CAROLINA MIGRANT NETWORK

The Carolina Migrant Network continues to be the ONLY organization in the Carolinas providing FREE legal representation for people in immigration detention centers and in removal proceedings. Their funding is under attack! 40% of CMN’s funding has been lost this year! Without legal representation, people in detention are far more likely to be deported, separated from their families and forced back into dangerous conditions.

DONATE to The Carolina Migrant Network

*RED CARDS in English/Spanish will be available at the Sept 3rd social event.

The Power of Mutual Aid— from Shamaiye Haynes Co-Director, QC Family Tree

In a world where institutions often turn a blind eye, it’s mutual aid that picks up the slack and we refuse to let hunger become “just the way things are.” Together, with neighbors, volunteers, and fighters like Indivisible Charlotte, we’re sending a clear message: we will feed our own, and no one gets left behind.

We owe a fierce thank‑you to Debbie B. for masterminding the flow of perishable and non-perishable food into the Freedom Fridge at QC Family Tree’s Blue House (2916 Parkway Avenue). Who would think an outdoor refrigerator in a red cabinet could be so powerful but it is and it slaps complacency in the face and proves how grassroots power can reshape our community.

Next up: our trusty Red Box is getting a glow‑up by a few of our folks in our artists collective. When we invest in these small symbols of solidarity, we remind everyone that this is our community, built by us and for us.

From every grateful neighbor and every full belly: Debbie, you’re a force of nature. And to Indivisible Charlotte: keep stoking the fire.

We are grateful for the care and support you provide to the Enderly Park Community and beyond.

By establishing this network, ICLT aims to create a grassroots support system that can respond quickly and effectively to the needs of these communities, which may be at increased risk due to current political policies and rhetoric. The project reflects ICLT's commitment to defending democracy and protecting the rights of marginalized groups in the face of potential threats to civil liberties and social programs.
