ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Here’s some of what we’ve done since 2016, and here’s the GOOD TROUBLE we hope you will get involved in with Indivisible Charlotte:

  • Built a strong activist community that stays engaged and fights back (2017 to the present)

  • Stopped repeal of Obamacare through 8 months of protest and community action (2017–2018)

  • Supported members to run and win elected office

  • Helped flip the US Senate, elect a new President and the first Black, first Asian, and first woman Vice President, as well as helped elect many state and local Democratic candidates giving Governor Cooper back his veto power

  • Helped elect Jeff Jackson to Congress in 2022

  • Broke the Republican supermajority in the North Carolina General Assembly in 2018—and again in 2024

  • Boosted statewide Democratic wins in 2024, empowering the NC Attorney General to defend civil rights

  • Hosted 5 Racial Equity and Inclusion trainings with nationally renowned trainer to help foster better understanding of our community and how we can fight for everyone

  • Written tens of thousands of postcards to voters

  • Knocked thousands of doors to discuss candidates and issues

  • Made thousands of phone calls to educate and inform voters

  • Organized dozens of high profile protests, rallies and press conferences demanding action and accountability from our congressional representatives

  • Hosted dozens of social gatherings to network and foster camaraderie among other like-minded, progressive folks

  • Held informative monthly meetings with panels and experts from the community to better understand issues and necessary action

  • Our advocacy and members have been featured by TIME Magazine, CNN, MSNow, NBC and local television
