Join us on Saturday, March 9th at Pins Mechanical for bowling and to hear from three candidates for these statewide offices!
Braxton Winston, Candidate for Commissioner of Labor
Natasha Marcus, Candidate for Commissioner of Insurance
Wesley Harris, Candidate for State Treasurer
All three of these offices, as well as other important seats like the Secretary of State, Superintendent of Public Instruction, and more, are part of what’s called the Council of State. Together with the North Carolina Cabinet and several independent agencies, the Council of State offices constitute the executive branch of North Carolina's state government.
During Pins & Politics, Braxton, Natasha, and Wesley will tell us about the offices they’re running for, how the Council of State works, and what it’s like to run for statewide office. And of course, we’ll have bowling and a great space, Pins Mechanical, to hang out at!
Who: Charlotte-area young folks ages 17-35
When: March 9, starting at 1:30. Candidates will begin speaking at approximately 2pm. Hanging out and bowling will go until 4pm.
Where: Pins Mechanical at 307 W. Tremont Ave, Charlotte, NC 28203
How do I sign up? If you plan to attend, please RSVP by clicking here!
Anything else? Attendees will be responsible for paying for their own beverages, but we’ll cover one lane for bowling!
CLT Engage, led by Caroline and Charles DeLoach, is Indivisible Charlotte's sub-group made for younger members. Our goal is to provide a space for people ages 17-35 to learn about North Carolina and Charlotte-specific issues, build a community of engaged young voters, and to promote progressive issues and candidates.
